Brief Description:  Complete the flap handle mechanism

I took a day off from fuel tank messing today, and progressed further with the flight controls. I could not previously finish the flap handle without both flaperon torque tubes in place (without removing the unit again). A bit of trial and error is required to trim the length of the tube down the inside of the flap handle so that the push button is flush with the top of the flap handle. It was quite difficult to cut off the surplus, in situ, with a hacksaw. That was me being lazy. I should have removed the unit. Picture 1 (out of focus) shows the handle in place. You can see the flaperon torque tubes undernearth the mounting plate.

The mounting plate which supports the detent bracket assembly is screwed in place, with two temporary spacers trapped between the plate and the seat floor. This simulates the thickness of the inspection cover that will be in place on the finished aircraft. Picture 2.
