I also trimmed the bottom of the canopy fairing, and reinstalled in on the fuselage, at least temporarily. This allowed me to finish the work on the canopy handle that I deferred ages ago for the lack of a couple of bolts.
Not really happy with the stiffness of the handle. I need to pull down the back of the handle to open the canopy. This isn't too bad from inside, but it does mean that it is difficult to open the canopy from the outside. If you don't know to push down on the rear of the handle, it's not going to open. Not good in an emergency situation.
