Brief Description:  Sanding...

The first of, no doubt, many sanding sessions. I used 80 grit paper wrapped around a block of 4x2 for the straight sections. The plans called for something tubular around 4 inches diameter for sanding the curved section across the top. After hunting around, the best I could find was a packet of sugar soap! The diameter was a bit small, but a curved sanding tool is definitely required. The inevitable happened and the packet started leaking, so now I have soap and fibreglass dust to contend with.

Pictures 1 and 2 show both sides, caked up with epoxy and microballoons, and ready for rubbing down.

Biggest problem appears to be the lower parts of both sides where the cloth had sagged inwards. It would be better if the plans had suggested packing out this area before applying the fibreglass cloth. I suspect I will end up with multiple layers of filler.
