Today I completed the plumbing - installing the fuel return line. Having ordered a pristine 8ft length of straight pipe it seemed a shame to start butchering it. Although most of the pipe run is straight, it has to bent by hand into a large radius arc so that it can be inserted through the snap bushings. I had retained the "test piece" with the various bends at the forward end, so I had a template to work from. This made things a bit easier.
It took some time, but I managed to get the pipe to line up at both end with the fittings. There's "very" little clearance below the flaperon actuation arm. I'll have to see if I can get this section of the pipe to lie even closer to the bottom skin. I don't need the flaperon to slowly work its way through a fuel pipe under my seat!
Picture 1 shows the forward end of the return pipe coming from the firewall. I put a piece of tape on the wall and floor to help me lay the pipe along the correct routing.
Picture 2 shows the fitting at the firewall from the cockpit side, and Picture 3 shows the same fitting on the engine side of the firewall.
