With no delivery date in prospect for the return fuel line, I had to decide whether to down tools or finally add the superstructure to the "boat". I reasoned that I would necessarily exclude the side panels as the paint for these was due to be delivered with the pipe. If it was too difficult to install the pipe with the superstructure in place, I would put the fuselage on its side and attack it that way.
Having convinced myself to wait no longer, I set to with the various fuselage superstructure parts.
Picture 1 shows the Mid-Fuselage Brace riveted to the main uprights. This isn't going anywhere, with 9 rivets per side.
Picture 2 shows the brace in position.
Picture 3 shows one of the Rollbar Attach Plates riveted on. I misread the instructions on Page 23-03 Step 4, and started to rivet the first plate without the Mid-Fuselage Brace Close-out in place. The "light went on", and I ended up having to drill out a couple of rivets per side. The heads came off easily enough, but it was a bit of a job getting the tails out of the thick plate.
