Brief Description:  Completed the main fuel line

Finally received the fuel-proof thread sealant from Earls today, so I could apply this to the non-tapered joints and tighten everything up.

I encountered a problem in the area of the fuel cutoff. Once I had tightened the joints the cutoff bracket was 1/4 inch off the mounting holes. Basically one of the pipes was a wee bit too short. Nothing for it but to make another one. Luckily I had some spare tube. I had to cut the old pipe in-situ so that I could get it through the bulkhead to recover the fittings. Second attempt was OK - Picture 1 show the unit in place.

I also had difficulty with snap bushings. I had been warned about this by other builders but had not appreciated the problem. I had removed them from the holes, and pushed them onto the appropriate pipe sections to make it easier to manipulate the pipes, but when it came time slip them back they wouldn't go into their mounting holes with the pipe already running through them. I ended up cutting the bushings with a Stanley knife to remove them. With the knife I was then able to shave some plastic off the spring clips. This worked, and I got the bushings reinstalled. The pipe isn't going to move so the bushing is just there to stop the pipe fretting on the bulkhead, I guess.
