Brief Description:  Rivet the centre Baggage Ribs

Next step was to start to rivet the baggage ribs to to bulkhead and the the baggage floors. The left hand one was relatively easy. The right hand one was a nightmare - because I could not easily get the rib to nestle into the corner of the floor panel (because of the radiused bend). I spent an hour fighting with a handful of rivets.

Picture 1 shows the two ribs in place.

Picture 2 shows the right hand rib (upside down). You can see the head of the rivet right up against the bulkhead is not lying flush against the rib. This was partially due to the difficulty of getting the rivets in, in the first place, and partially due to trying to squeeze the rivets in a tight corner. I should have used the little wedge tool I made right at the beginning of the project. In fact I used this on subsequent ribs with better results. It remains to be seen whether Tim will accept these rivets. Meanwhile I cannot see how to remove them, other than perhaps with a Dremel.

Picture 3 shows the same rivet problem, on the left rib. In both cases my fight with the rivets has left scratches on the primer to be touched up.
