While the wing is still "open", we need to install two hinge brackets for the flaperons.
First job is to rivet the base of the triangular hinge rib (see Picture 1). This leaves an 1/8 gap between the hinge rib and the wing main rib. Once done, the hinge assemblies can be rotated up through a slot in the bottom skin, where they just fit between hinge rib and the wing rib, making a sandwich. Once clecoed in place (and amazingly they fit), the sandwich can be riveted and the vertical flange of the hinge rib is also riveted to the rear spar. This completes the job. I took plenty of photos before the wing is closed up, hopefully for ever!
