I finally decided that I might as well start preparatory work, even though I don't yet have approval from the LAA to proceed with the build.
Preparation of the wing ribs doesn't involve any rivetting, so there's nothing to "back out" if the LAA require mods.
To deburr the edges of the scalloped flanges, I shamelessly stole an idea from Alan Gilmore. His web site is here...

...and has a section on Tools. He fabricated a tool for deburring from an old kitchen knife sharpener. I couldn't find a similar knife-sharpener, but I did find a fisherman's knife sharpener on the internet for £21 which does the same job.
