Brief Description:  Fuel System

Yeah, it's a "fuel system" now. I finished riveting together the fuel filter mount, riveting on the platenuts for easier maintanance in the future. Then I started on the actual fuel lines, between the filter and the pump, and the one between the pump and the firewall. Bending short fuel lines is not so much fun. But I finally solved my dilema by making the shorter one into a loop shape, so it didn't have to bend so much so I could get the fitting on the end and still flare the end properly. One attempt at the loop formation and it fit great. Then the longer on at the front, which was basically straight but had to be the exact proper length took a few tries, but I finally got it. Then I fabricated the mount for the fuel pump, and mounted the fuel pump. Put the pump and filter back inside, and now I just have to drill the pump mount for two pop rivets on both sides. I was going to use screws, but I drilled into the old platenut, when I just barely missed my old placement for the screw hole, and to fix that would be way too much work. Two holes on each side of the pump, attach those rails with pop rivets and if I need to remove the pump, I can, multiple ways. first, with the clamp mount itself opens up, and two, because I mounted the clamp with platenuts, I can remove that if I need to. That was pretty much it for the day. Found out that I do need to replace those pushrod seals from the engine. Not sure how that happened, but Allen Barrett is taking care of me, and it will be good for me to open up my engine a little. As long as I don't totally screw it up!
