Brief Description:  Nose Gear, Horizontal Stab

Measured the breakout force for the nose gear side to side movement with a fish scale. Got 15 lbs of force on both sides to turn the wheel. So, satisfied, I drilled for the cotter pin, and installed the cotter pin. Installed the nose gear leg on the engine mount and installed the bolt from the rear, torqued and installed all the cotter pins for the engine mount. Put torque seal on all torqued bolts and installed the hole filler for the nose gear bolt access hole. I'll have to put some sort of RTV around it sometime. Then I cleaned up, and rearranged the shop for the Horzontal stab attach and eventual engine mount towards the front of the garage for better light, and easier access to tools, instead of walking around the HS. Got the HS off the wall, and put it in place, and measured from the outboard most rivet on the HS, to the firewall, upper engine mount attach location. Went back and forth a few times to get the measurement the same, then clamped and remeasured. Satisfied, I measured the width of the longeron, and subtracted the width of the vertical member of the longeron, and then drilled a pilot hole. Looking good, I continuted to drill for the AN-3 bolts. Fabricated the spacers, and match drilled the two pilot holes, then final sized them and installed the bolts. Clamped the rear spar in place after putting the 11/16ths drill bit under it to get the proper spacing and marked for the bolt locations. Didn't get the holes drilled, ran out of time.
