Brief Description:  R. Elevator Riveting

Riveted in stiffeners to the bottom of the skin, after first riveting 9 rivets into nothing. Drilled out those rivets, put the stiffeners in and finished up. Then riveted the 4 rivets holding the 903/904/913 assembly to the spar, which took forever because I had a hard time getting to those rivets, especially the ones that run forward and aft. Messed one up twice and had to drill it out. That was seriously tough. Enlarged the hole slightly, so squeezed a 4-5 size rivet down to make it fatter and shorter, then inserted it into the hole, which wasn't easy either. I put some goo on my finger to hold the rivet in place, then pushed the rivet through. Finally l arranged a "jig" to hold things apart so I would have better bucking access. Then I riveted the bottom of the skin to the spar, using mostly pop rivets, but solid rivets around the attachment points as far as I could reach with my 4" no hole yoke. Finshed the day by giving the shop a good cleaning, as I had stuff everywhere trying to get that rivet in (then out, then another in, that one out, another in). Whew. I still have 4 fun looking rivets to put in that attach the skin to the counterbalance assembly. I'll have to buck those from behind the skin.
