Brief Description:  Rudder Pedals, Baggage Compartment

Drilled holes in aux longeron and center support brace for the rudder pedals. I made three positions, one inch apart. I drilled the aux longerons outside the airplane, then re-installed the rudder pedals to match drill the center support brace based on those adjustable positions on the aux longerons. Took some head scratching to figure out the best way, but it came out well. Then I installed and drilled the baggage ribs and aft baggage skin. Saw the issue with edge distance on the lower flange of the vert. rib, and that is well documented in other web sites. It seems the solution is just to trim it off and use only one rivet. Then I drilled the holes in the fuselage for the fuel lines, adding one more for the eggenfellner engine. Then I started making my punch list of things to do before I rivet this guy together. Saw where I missed drilling the 5/8th holes for the left side rudder cable in some of the bulkheads. It's obvious when you get it all put together and see how things go. Drilled those and put in the bushings. Someone emailed me and said my entries weren't personal enough. So, I went back to American Airlines last week, and I'll probably be flying the 767 out of JFK. The Gators lost to LSU last night, which was a shame, because they were the better team, oh well. My Dad is going through his second round of chemo for his abdominal cancer, and he's pretty weak. I'm taking the boys up to their cabin in NC today to do some things for him, since he's too weak to travel. Cancer sucks. I've been on mil leave flying C-17's since before my furlough, shortly after 9/11, so going back to the airline world will be strange. Pay will initially be about the same as I'm making now in the AF, as a Major. That's sad, huh? That's about all the personal stuff I can think of.... is that better? Feel free to email me if you read this.
