Brief Description: drilling rotor tip holes for later balancing
Drilling a hole into the rotor spar is not something shown in the video, but it seems all builders put them in to make it easier to balance the rotor blades. I wanted to make sure that these holes were drilled perfectly straight and at the intended location, so I build a small gig and bolted it to the spar of the rotor. Worked out as intended and I drilled the hole about 1.5" deep and then tapped it 1/4"-20 and put in set screws, which will be locked in place after the blades have been balanced.
