Over two weeks were spent preparing and learning how to paint aerospace coatings with spray gun. First test pieces were wash primer, primer and flat military coatings. The results were not good at all; finishes were spotty and glossy instead of smooth and flat. Consulted with Steve Voisin and Ryan Wilcox. Discovered the expensive spray bottles were wrecked by some solvents. Shot large test panel with five Skyscapes GA colors and clear coat; results were much better overall. Learned masking, sanding and retouching skills through trial and error. Learned that small booth was inadequate for spray gun work.
