- Trial fit the left elevator. - Removed Elevator and trimmed the HS skin and spar. - Re-attached elevators to check travel. Both elevators move through entire range without any problems. - Removed elevators and drilled more holes in the leading edge for rivets. - Used the extra rivets I had on the leading edge (I still need about a dozen more between the two elevators). It really made a difference. There are a few spots where there is a slight ripple but the leading edge is much more sturdy. - Started priming the elevator skins. Finished the Right side, need to do the Left.
* WHATS LEFT TO DO ON ELEVATORS: - Need to prime the left elevator. - Still need about a dozen rivets for the leading edges. - Need to use a no holes yoke to rivet the couple trailing edge rivets. - Using the no holes yoke, need to rivet the remaining holes in the trim tab spar. - Need to rivet on the the little custom rib.
HS skin needs to be trimmed for elevator counterbalance.
Used Unibit to get the corner radius.
Both elevators trial fit after the HS skins and spar was trimmed.
