Brief Description:  Vertical Stabilizer - 03 - VS Riveting

- Riveted together the rear VS Spar, doubler and hinges (VS-803, 808, 410, 411 and 412). Decided to back rivet this assembly and it turned out OK. The back rivetting bit for the gun jumps around just enough to make the rivets a bit oblong if you don't hold the bit in place. When rivetting the hinges it moves a lot because the hinges are painted smooth from Van's.
- Riveted the ribs ot the forward VS spar (VS-702 to VS-704, 706 and 706).
- Touched up the the ribs and spars with the new aviation green primer.
- Cut the strips of blue plastic off the VS skin using a soldering iron (VS-801). Completely removed the plastic from the inside of the skin.
- Deburred all the holes and edges of the VS skin (inside and out).
- Dimpled about 40% of the VS Skin.
- Will be ready to finish dimpling and attach the skin to the frame tomorrow. If all goes as planned I'll be working on the rudder tomorrow and the elevators by the weekend.
