Brief Description:  Fitting Tail Spring to Fuselage

Today I began installing the tailwheel on my RV-7. The first thing I did was to trim the tailwheel spring cutout useing a template provided on DWG 27. Then I had to remove the rear bulkhead that was partially riveted in by the factory. after the rear bulkhead was removed I cleaned up the parts, deburred and primed the area. I then made the small braces required and primed them. Break for lunchAfter lunch I fitted in the W-409 Tail Spring mount and drilled it in place with the F-711 and F-712 bulkheads. I then reinstalled the F-711 bulkhead.I now fitted the rudder temporially in place. Now I can make the rudder stops. I made these a little diffferent than the plans called for. I made them a little higher so they would clear the rudder cables. They came out great. I primed them and riveted them in place.A long day but the tailwheel assembly is finished.
