Brief Description: Screwed up reaming out 1/4" bushing - *%$$#**!!
Got up early and completed welding of bushings on both Horizontal Stabilizers. Started cutting, sanding, and filing of bushings on first Horizontal Stabilizer. Got the two hinge bushings to correct length and decided to clean them out with 1/4" reamer. SIMPLE RIGHT??? Not for me, first one no problem. second one, got a little hard in the middle. I just pushed harder. When I looked at the bushing on the back side, bad feeling and bad words! The hole was oblong and off center.
Luckily, I have a lot of experience fixing screwups. Sand down welds on both sides of bushings. Drilled out to 3/8" and it came on out. Decided I should stop for the day since I was on the way to recovery from the screwup and didn't want to have a second one.
