A neighbor of mine is a retired defense sheet metal craftsman. I was going to do some some fancy and time consuming shaping of angle. He stopped by and I asked for some input. He looked at me with a confused look. He asked for a piece of poster paper and placed in position. Simple, neat, and easy to make.
Made a posterboard template and then made the "Lepinsky Lip" out of .025" sheet.
Since the lip size is a bit of black magic to keep all the engine temps in the green, the plan is to attach the lip with avex rivets. This gives me the option to easily adjust the length of the lip based on flight testing. May even have a summer and winter lip of different sizes.
