Start on fuel system. Working on mounting of fuel selector switch and "Bob" Gascolator.
Spent a lot of time trying to find a good location for the fuel selector that is closer to the pilot seat. Every alternate location I came up with usually involved moving the gascolator to an unacceptable position. First priority is to maintain the gascolator in the lowest position of the fuel system.
Final location for the SPRL Fuel selector vlave was center, just ahead of the flap handle. I didn't want any interference with using the flap handle.
Made mount of .050" 4130. Drilled out lightening holes. Welded mount plate in and temporarily mounted fuel selector.
Started making brace for gascolator. Welded in location. Location was chosen that would not interfere with the shock struts and be the most accessable for pre-flight check. The location chosen was forward,left just behind the STA B former. Left enough room for installation of inspection cover for removal during annual inspection. Height was set to allow just enough clearance for fuel drain valve to clear aluminum skin.
