The issue with the aluminum formers vs the steel is the use of tabs vs welded to tubing. On the cargo door there are a few places where the formers taper to "0". That leaves no room for any type of tab for attaching the former.
So the only option is to stick out 1/2" leaving just enough room for a tab. Discussed this with Bob. he saw no issues with this and even suggested using a "non-brittle" epoxy in addition to the tabs. Recommended produst used by Carbon Cub builders. Need to research that.
Also had plans to make in one-piece. Not possible, too long for brake. Have to make in two pieces and weld together.
