Cut a piece of 1/8" (0.110") piece of polycarbonate to size and fitted on the skylight. After looking at Bob's recommended method on the patrol, decided to use capstrips and sandwich the lexan. With oversized holes in the lexan, I'm hoping this will allow some thermal expansion and contraction in the polycarbonate without cracking or splitting. It is a large piece and there are pretty good temperature swings here in New Mexico. Hoping anyway!
The capstrips are 0.050" 6061-T6 cut one inch wide. At the windshield interface there is a 1 1/4" wide piece that should sandwich down on both te windshield and the skylight when tightened down. The forward and aft covers are 3" wide 3003 0.035". The forward and aft covers need a little rolling and finessing for proper fit.
