Brief Description: Cut and shaping of Cowl air intake opening
Cut opening in lower engine cowl for Van's Filter Air Box.
The old saying, "even a blind Squirrel can find a nut every once in a while" applies here. I started to just put a flanged edge on the opening. I started rolling the edge and things kept looking better and the cowl skin getting stiffer and stronger. The flexing of the thin cowl skin was a concern based on what I was seeing prior to rolling the opeing edge.
Probably not the first to use this method but like the result and the lucky stumble upon it.
Only thing I should have done to improve was to cover the end of threads on roller. Angle is pretty acute at forward and aft end. Ended up scratching the sheet metal a tiny bit.
