Brief Description: Forward skin of fuse and canopy
Used the hole duplicators to replicate the forward skin of the fuse with replacement material in order to improve the edge distance on the rivets along the subpanel top flange. The replacement skin was not oversized but it did allow between 1/16th and 1/8th inch more edge.
After duplicating the holes, I clecoed it in-place and positioned the canopy frame, then applied the canopy skin. After securing the alignment with two clecoes, I removed the skin, calculated the remaining hole alignment, and pre-drilled the skin (#40 holes) along the forward canopy weldment. Secured it again with clecoes and match drilled the weldment. Finally, easured, marked and drilled the side skin/weldments.
Trimmed all the edges of the skins for prelimary fit, trimmed the firewall edge to conform.
Ordered new F-631A (L&R) components to repair my miscalculated hole pattern on the rear window to rollbar. Will replace the aft F-631A L&R to allow re-spacing of the rivets.
Also ordered the Vetterman exhausts and isolation mounts for the engine.
