Brief Description:  Spray can primer GBP-988 or PE-988

After searching the Sherwin Williams website unsuccessfully, I contacted a couple more Phoenix area dealers. Turned out that the "automotive' store only a few blocks away had "self etching primer in a spray can" .... and I hopped right over there.

I was delighted to find that it was the elusive GBP-988 which I couldn't find and nobody seemed to think was a 'good part number' ... because online it apparently goes by PE-988. DUH?

This was identified on Dan Checkoway's website as the primer that he preferred and others may have been specific or just mentioned 'rattle-can primer' ... nice gray color, mists on in a lovely spray pattern, and dried to touch before I could get back in the garage. Guess that might be the Arizona desert heat, too. Lucky it was still liquid when it travelled from the nozzle to the parts.

Get a pic of the can and EF-601 with primer.
