Brief Description:  Wing Controls Surfaces

#1 shows the aileron pushrod attach to the F-406 bracket through the rear spar, and the gap seal is clecoed in place (approx) for rough trim. Note that the rod end is 'more than half way" in the Heim fitting (same on both ends) and it turns out to be longer than the 'rough cut' dimension given in the instructions (18 1/8"). This was mentioned in the Orndorff video ("avoid cutting too short") and so the rough cut was made by dividing the mtl from the kit in two parts, approx 19" each.

Not the silver cleco in the upper center of pic, to 'secure' the aileron during final adjustments. It's actually in a third hole not on the plans (a #40) to facilitate getting rid of clamps that get in the way of moving the aileron during the fit. I should have only drilled the F-406 and F-407 to #40 for fitting instead of drilling out to the bolt size (3/16") - just followed the instructions

#2 shows the flap and brace just 'propped into position' to see the big picture as I work. Note that the F-407 bracket is virtually horizontal when 'in trail'.

#3 shows the 'neutral position' pin using a #40 bit drilled arbitarily through the bellcrank and angles. The position of the hole is arbitrary, NOT the position of the bellcrank. The bellcrank 'control stick' hole should be centered 1 3/16" from the angle surface and the aileron should be "in trail" i.e., aligned with the wing chord.
