Brief Description:  Wings - attach and more

Hard to capture such a long day, but finally got enough bolts inserted to move ahead with 'fitting' and marking other tasks of first wing insertion. (Mark & prepare for nutplate match-drill on the fuselage overlapping skin, Match-drill the tank support & break-away, Fuel & vent lines cut & flared)

Also, important to do the wing angle of incidence (AOI) and match-drill the aft wing spar attach bolts.

Additional photos on 2nd entry for this date.

There is a substantial (1/4" or more) space between the fuselage overlapping skin and the bottom of the wing skin. If the AOI is set to close the gap, it may require resetting the AOI on the HS, too. (Instructions indicate this is acceptable, consistency betwwen these two).

Fuel and vent lines flared and good fit with fuel selector valve on the inside, too. Since this was a QB there is little or nothing that can be done to change the main gear alignment, but check it against specs.

Preliminary bolts must now be removed to install nutplates. And, the wing root fairing must be marked, trimmed and match-drilled.
