Brief Description:  Installing Top Skins

I invited Gary Hunter to inspect the project as an EAA Tech Counselor. He specifically looked at the fuel tanks to verify that they were ready to close up. I have attached his Tech Counselor Visit Report sheet. He indicated that the inside coat of EZ-Pozy was heavy enough and the T-Hats were well prepared. It is ready to close.

We talked about a few other topics.
1. He suggested using carbon fiber for the cowling. He had saved about 12 lbs when he remade his in this fashion. He suggested 3 or 4 plys 5oz CF. At the flanges, increase it up to around 7 plys. Use stainless hardware, CF will not attack stainless. I asked when would he suggest that I call him back for another visit and his response is when I am nearing completion of a mold for the cowling.
2. He looked over the rest of the plane and said that the workmanship was good.
3. He looked at my vent layout for the fuel tanks and indicated that the common manifold with two vents connected to it was a good plan.
4. I asked him about the darkened EZ Pozy Hardner. His comment is that it would not affect the final hardened product. It is evidentaly caused by a contamination of double bonded carbons in the ppm range.
5. He is personnaly using two P-Mags for his engine. He did not see a problem mixing Lightspeed and PMag.
