Brief Description:  Installing Top Skins

The baggage area holes were opened up on the pilot side. The front seat opening was opened up all of the way to the floor. This is a deviation from the plans. The plans call for a small 3/4" wall at the bottom. This is presumably to keep small items from exiting the baggage area. I talked to several builders, some who had removed this wall and some who did not. One noted that the upper wall should stay to help strengthen the upper longeron as people enter and exit the plane. Since it does not help to remove the top wall, I stayed with the plans at the top. Most people stated that they felt that the corresponding bond without the wall was actually stronger. I agree and therefore I removed the lower wall and blended it to a smooth entrance into the cockpit. I will cover the foam with a 2 BID tape and ply later.
