The canopy latch has not worked as planned. First, the right and left side had been seperated, initially for a good reason, to provide redundancy. However, They could not be coordinated well and it took two people to close it from the outside. In addition, the canopy was not closing all of the way. Nancy and I trimmed away and sanded portions of the frame that was interfering with the complete closure. Som of the port side is still trimmed and will need to be patched. The two back latches were tied together by a horizontal torsion tube. Two CS-124 control horns were used to tie the forward/backward motion of the latch to a rotating motion and back on the starboard side. The front latch on the starboard side was disconnected from the back latch. It is still functional and will serve as a backup latch. It is still operated independent of the port latch. It is currently still a rotating hook. This does interfere with closing if they are not actuated together. I may still convert this to a sliding latch.
