Brief Description: Closing the Top and Carving & Glassing the Outside
06/13/2009 I 5 min epoxied the top of the nose cone on and turned the fuselage over. I started to trim out the wheel well and add the hump at the aft for air drag reduction. 06/17/2009 I started sanding the nose cone bottom. What a mess! I finished the flat portion of the bottom leaving the sides for tomorrow. 06/18/2009 I cut the 1/4" birch for the nose bumper and shaped it so that it doesn't interfere with the strut movement. 06/20/2009 I floxed in the plywood support for the nose bumper. I layed up the bottom nose section with 2 plys BID down half way on the side and 1 extra ply over the nose gear strut. 06/25/2009 I flox'd in the NG-15 nose gear attachment to the strut. I have not installed the gear door covers. I am not sure that is needed with the arrangement that I have, so I am going to try leaving it out for now.
