I taped up the airplane to protect the inside and the top of the airplane from getting overspray from the painting of the bottom (the plane is upside down). I also taped up the landing gear and the nose gear. The nose openings were also taped up. I taped the top of the leading edge about 6 inches back to allow some overlap to the bottom. I remove the nose gear actuator to allow the nose gear to move freely and avoid getting any over spray on it. I plan on leaving it out until I paint the inside of the nose. I removed the landing break to allow painting of the inside. I taped up the hinge and the acuator opening. Over about a month, I sprayed on three layers of the Deltron DPS3051 White V-Prime Acrylic Urethane Surfacer. I did find out that they do still make white. I had to special order it. The first layer, I sanded down until I started seeing the filler using 220 grit. The second layer was sanded with 320 grit and still showed some filler. The third layer I sanded with 400 grit. At this point I called it good. I did have to fight some runs, mostly around the landing gear. I had trouble getting the right amount on the odd shaped surfaces.
