To attach the rudder cable, a window was opened up at the winglet -wing intersection where the rudder conduit is. This area was cleaned out to make sure there would not be any interference. The cable was installed and a stainless steel thimble installed using zinc coated copper compression fittings for the cable .
Once this was finihed, the hole was covered up. First, the coupon that was cut out was reused to provide support. It was 5 minute epoxied in place with a slight slope up to the winglet to provide the room for the cable thimble. Then 2 BID and 4 UND were layed up over the hole, coupon and onto the winglet. All was peel ply'd. Tomorrow, it will be filled and contoured. I suspect there will be a small bump.
The return spring attachment in the rudder was installed using a small 1" piech of plywood drilled with an eye bolt in it. The plywood was floxed in and covered with 2 BID.
