Brief Description: Jigging Upper Winglet to Wing - Port
Nancy and I succesfully jigged the winglet to the port wing after a few tries. The end of the wing was trimmed to match the winglet. After fitting the winglet back on, it appears that the wing was a little over trimmed by about 0.25". It shouldn't create a problem.
A glass fiber tape was used to hold the top of the wing for dimension C. The final measurement was 118.25" vs a target of 118.35" +/- 1". The bottom was supported by some foam blocks and Nancy held it steady as I measured and applied Bondo. After the Bondo cured, I realized the leading edge had drifted about 0.125" outboard. Initially the TE measurement A was right at the 108.35" +/- 0.05". I decided to slowly sand away the Bondo near the front hoping that the rear Bondo was still flexible enough to allow the LE to move into position. I was successful and re applied the Bondo.
After allowing that Bondo to cure, I measured the TE and it was off about 0.15". I decided to try the same technique. I successfully move the trailing edge back with in tolerance.
