The spring was installed into the winglet tube and the rudder re-installed. Carefully, the spring was attached. I had to use a hinge pin to guide the spring into the eye bolt and push it with a screwdriver.
Once installed, it was apparant that the hinge tendency to push the rudder out was stronger than the spring, ARGH!!! After this, I had a lot of head scratching to see how to fix the hinge alignment issue.
