The 3 layers of BID were cut and wet out on aluminum foil. The foam on the winglet rib was covered with micro on the flat surfaces and to form the corner radius. The 3 layers of BID were installed using the foil to flatten out the layup. This worked very well. The process was repeated on the rudder. The top and bottom ends were also covered in the same fashion.
The rudder and winglet hinge locations had a extra 2 BID installed in the same fashion. The BID overlapped the hinge location by at least 1 " on each side. It also covered the bottom of the rib and possibly part of the other side.
