Brief Description:  Oil Cooler

I purchase some 1/8" 2024 T3 sheet to fashion the bracket. It was riveted to a 1` 1/2" x 1 1/2" L to be able to fasten to the firewall. The bracket is sloping down at 10° according to the plans. I did change one thing from the plans. The plans have the inlet and outlet at the lowest point. This seems to be an invitation to an air pocket causing reduced heat transfer. I decided to install at 90° so that the inlet is at the lowest connection and the outlet at the highest connection.

The bracket fit between the flanges of the oil cooler and four 3/4" x 3/4" L brackets were riveted to the bracket to provide a connection flange. Blind nuts were rivted to the L bracket to accept AN3-4 boilts.

The entire assembly was mounted to the firewall using AN4-10 bolts. On the inside, nutplates were installed on some 1/16" alum and attached using pop rivets.
