Brief Description:  Oil Cooler

The oil filter adapter that came with the engine does not allow enough room between the engine and the firewall to remove the filter. I purchased a special oil filter adapter from B&C Specialty to allow for mounting of the filter at 90° from the other adapter. This will provide plenty of space. The adapter part # is BC700. It uses Champion CH48108-1 oil filters. To remove the bolts from the old adapter, the remaining Magneto had to be temporaily removed. The vernatherm was removed from the old adapter and re-installed in the new adapter and torqued to 300 in-lbs. A new aluminum gasket was installed. A Dynon oil temperature sender was installed. A new oil filter was installed. The adapter bolts were torqued to 75 in-lbs.

There are still actions that are required.

1. The Dynon oil tempreature sender does not have safety wire holes drilled. It also uses one wire. I am replacing it with a GRT Avionics two wire sender GRT FT-LC-01. It has not arrived yet.
2. The Magneto was placed back; however, it needs a new gasket and lock washers and it must be timed.
3. Once all is installed, the oil filter needs to be safety wired. The Vernatherm and the temperture sendor needs to be safety wired in a gang fashion.
