1. The prop hub mount was attached to the aircraft.

2. We already had an aligment tool fabricated from the previous plane.

3. A line was marked on the upper forward surface of the top cowl and the upper fuselage skin.

4. The hole on the alignment tool was centered on the top cowl and match-drilled #40.

5. The fuselage was leveled laterally, it had to be moved to a more leveled floor to avoid shimming it.

6. A strip of 23/32" tape was applied to the forward edges of the fuselage side skins.

7. The top cowl was placed in the fuselage to center it behind the S-1202 and sliding forward until it made contact with the S-1202. The aluminum angle was also placed on the S-1202 to align the top cowl vertically.

8. Removed the excess aft edge material from the top cowl until it fit between the S-1202 and the top of the forward fuselage skin

9. The level was placed on the floor and shimmed until it was leveled

10. The plumbs on both sides were placed on the top cowl. The reference points were marked in the top cowl and the level with the plumb bobs.
11. The aft edge of the top cowl was moved from right to left until the pair of the reference points were equal up to 1/16" from the level. This was also confirmed using reference points on the side skins

12. The top cowl was secured to fuselage with tape.

13. It was verified that the top cowl was laterally aligned and centered with the S-1202.

14. A permanent thin point marker was used to draw the central line of the plane crossing the seam between the top cowl and the upper forward fuselage skin.
