39iS/U-18: The base seal was positioned onto F-01202B-1 to create a reference mark on the fuselage side skin. This was repeated for the right side. The canopy was closed and a reference mark was placed on top of it, 1/16” aft of the C-01213B.
39iS/U-19: NOTE: The seal retainers had been previously primed and painted and the seals trimmed. The seal retainers were positioned between the washers and the canopy frame, the seal was inserted and positioned by trial and error until the gap between itself was around 1/16 of an inch but completely contacting the roll bar. The nuts were tighten just enough to keep everything in place. Seals C-01224A and C-01224B-R were notched and installed as instructed, C-01224B-L was also installed.
