We continued step 10 (14-02) with our c-frame riveter as per the last log entry. We damaged one of the rivets because of the closeness to another of our double flushed ones, we removed it and were more careful the second time, easy way to solve this was not centering the head on the riveter, we gave it a little offset. THE BEARINGS WILL NOT MOVE AS EASILY AS THEY DID WHEN THE ASSEMBLY WAS ONLY CLECOED.
We completed page 14-03 just by following the instructions, refer to the photos for details.
We then got to page 15-02, one of the most time consuming steps was step 1, you have to flute and straighten a total of 28 ribs. Some of them were “damaged” and were bent to the outside, we corrected this by using the hand pliers and fluting to the inside.
We had to trim some flanges, for that we used our bandsaw and used paper towel to prevent our rib from scratching.
Some of the ribs have aft flanges trimmed, some have forward flanges trimmed, some have both, others have none, and we have L and R ribs, so to identify these easier, we stacked them and label them using masking tape.
We completed steps 1 through 7 of 15-02.
