Sunday I finished up installing the ribs in the left wing tip and riveted and fiberglass them inplace. There is a photo below showing the left tip with the paino hinge and ribs installed. Next I went on to the right tip and worked on that over the last few days, doing the same process over again. Not to much to say here, again, it's a slow process and it all takes time.
I ran to the hangar yesterday and picked up some 2024 T-3 .040 aluminum for the chim material on the back side of the hinge. I know a number of people order a sheet of this aluminum, but if you look around at your local airport someone usually will have some. I located my supply in our hangar, our partner Perry who is a A&P had a piece collecting dust in the corner. I drove down to another neighbor and he said go look over there in that corner I may have something that will work for you, take what every you need, The airport folks at kpwc are just great.
