Brief Description:  Forward aft top skin

I finished riveting the forward aft top skin on Sunday morning. This is a big job done once and for all, Diane came out and ran the rivet gun and I did the bucking. I did put in one small shim on the copilots side of the fuselage on top of the bulkhead. I wish Diane could help be more, I know it would go much faster, but at this point I can only do so much, with this bad economy and the RE market, consequently, I will just do what I can get done until times change. I can always go fly the Cardinal. I'm selling my interest in the J3 cub to help with the building of the RV9a.

I started working on the wing tips and I will be using the Mark Phillip's tip install from his website http://websites.expercraft.com/n51pw/. Go take a look at Mark's beautiful Mojo RV6a, you will be pleased! The wing tips are installed with a piano hinge and a number of soft and hard rivets. Much like the cowl's are install on many RV's. Once you start this process you have committed to the process, so be sure you are ready pior to drilling the wing tip skins for the piano hinge! There is no turning back, it could be just blind rivets for your tips, or just screw it, but for me - " it is the piano hinge." Remember you could just screw it.
