Today I filed the right HS down along the path of elevator arm travel, now it looks great. I took off 1/16" and still have the need rivet distance from the edge of 1/4", this work very well and I'm happy with the travel and the look. It's an experimental aircraft and sometimes you have to do things like this to get the darn thing to work. I had looked on Dan Checkoway's site and he had done the same thing on his RV7, and visiting with Van's they said go for it, so I did!
