I did the first round of bdywork on the tail fairing. Trimmed a little closer to the finished size. One mistake I made is that when I put the body filler on the fairing I did not have it in position on the fuselage. Once the filler hardened, it caused the front of the fairing to bow outward about a 16th of an inch, so it is not as tight a fit as it was before. I thought about that before I put the filler on, but I didnt really think it would matter. It does. If you decide to go this route, apply the filler and let it harden while it is on the fuselage. Once I trim the faring to the finished size, it might be alright. Otherwise I will have to do more sanding and re-applly the filler.
