Brief Description: FAB construction, cowling fabrication
Finished riveting FAB top to bowl. Added modification kit for filter bypass. I will not be installing the carb heat option; if the filter clogs for icing or any other reason, I will employ the bypass and land. This will be noted in the POH and deliberate flight into icing conditions prohibited. The FAB was replaced on the engine and the control cable was connected to the bypass and ops checked. Jack Keegan made a foam plug to be used to fabricate the intake to the FAB on the cowling. I used a rasp to fit it into the cowl preparatory to installing the lower cowl and shaping it for the layup process. I also drilled the intake ramps to the top cowling. After preparing the surface, I used expoy to glue the ramps to the top cowling, using clecos and weights to hold them in place.
