Brief Description: Flight 60 - 180 lbs ballast, 1134 lbs gross
|
|
1.0 flight time, 4x around the pattern. Started w/ 14.5 gallons fuel on board, ended w/ ~11.5. Starting weight 1134 lbs, cg 66.88". Ending weight 1116 lbs, cg 67.22". Climb rate was a bit less - I wasn't keeping exact numbers, but around 900 fpm at 120 mph. Did turns, steep turns both directions. Slow flight w/ and w/o flaps, and turns in slow flight. Did stall w/ and w/o flaps. Did some high-power holding-type patterns just to see what the engine would do. I was getting 160 mph indicated at 3100 rpm and 5500 MSL. There may be a little more there, as I wasn't perfect with altitude (slightly climbing) and I didn't wait too long for it to steady out on speed. Much traffic was calling in/around the pattern as soon as I left (about 4 planes at 6:15 am), but when I headed back, they had all gone. Did 4x around the pattern. 3rd landing was the best ever, meaning it was equal to a few I've had before - detecting the wheels touch exactly at contact so elevator forwards to hold it on is totally smooth. It's really pretty solid at this higher weight - nice controllable glide path.
