Brief Description:  Flight 17

Took it up to 4500'. Let the speed build up to 155 mph at 3100 rpm. Pulled power back and let it climb in a turn to 5000' to 2600 rpm at 125 mph. Tried leaning for the first time, easy enough to bring it to a good EGT for cruise. Did a few steeper turns, about 30 deg bank. Pulled power to 2000 rpm and 20 flaps in the white arc to 60 mph. Let it descend to about 4700' and did some turns. Added power, released the flaps, descended to pattern at 125 mph, then in the pattern pulled power to 2000 rpm and 100 mph. Did usual landing from there - abeam touchdown point, power 1900, pull 20 flaps, trim full up, 90 mph. 80 mph on base, 70-80 on final. I plan to slow this down a little as I get more time on it. 0.5 flight time. Pulled cowling on return, oil cooler core still leaking (don't expect it to stop), but all other hose joints good. Hooked up the battery tender, dusted off the glare shield. The right flap contacts the aft spar in the retracted position. The left flap does not. Will consider lowering the right flap 1/2 turn on the rod end.
