Brief Description: Flight 7
|
|
Wind came down, so I got to go back out and try again. Only 0.2 flight time, as wind favored runway 30, which is (seriously) about 3 miles less taxiing. So one trip around the pattern. The rudder trim tab adjustment seems to be very close to right on - ball nicely centered, but didn't have much time to check. GPS with ship's power is nice - screen stays bright. Oil STILL leaks. Quite disappointing. Leaking appears to be at the oil filter and the lower end of the hose, even with a voishan seal. Will order an aircraft hose. I spent more on automotive hoses, a locally made hose from an industrial hose shop, voishan seals, replacing the fittings at the oil filter spacer - more than going with an aircraft hose in the first place. If the aircraft hose works, I'll provide the dimensions. However, I ran my hoses opposite from the Sonex installation guide - the aft-facing fitting on the spacer goes to the near side of the oil cooler, and the forwards-facing fitting (with the 90 elbow on the hose) wraps around to the far side.
